Tried hard but was a shade disappointing behind McGaw subsequently over 1200m at Caulfield where he couldn't lead. Expect Mick Dee to be aggressive from the wide gate. Can bounce back. The speedy ETERNAL DARKNESS (1) recorded a soft maiden win over 1000m at Moonee Valley at his latest appearance seven weeks ago. Goes up a level this time but he is a danger with some natural improvement to come. NOSTRA BELLA (4) wasn't far away in the Breeders Stakes down the straight recently, clearly a career highlight. May have turned the corner and is worth throwing in at massive odds. BEDOURIE (2) turned in an eye-catcher over 1000m at Cranbourne last time. Expecting further improvement so cannot be ruled out despite the class rise.
