SECRET OF DRAGON (5) appeals off a last-start 2nd at Istanbul on 16 Oct over 1200m in 2Y HCP 14 carrying 56.5kg from barrier 1, and he draws well again in 2; recent Istanbul efforts at 1400m and 1500m read solid. SHIMMER (3) maps well from barrier 1 and owns a strong Istanbul 1300m record (2:1-1), with recent thirds here at 1400m and 1500m bolstering claims despite a short turnaround. RAPID SHOT (1) is third-up and returns to 1300m after a Kocaeli 1400m 3rd, with a positive Istanbul record (4:2-1-0) and a better barrier than last start. MANIAC (4) resumes first-up with a 1300m placing on debut and has a handy jockey record, and her recent barrier shift to 3 is an incremental plus.

Third-up and back 100m, he comes off a 3rd of 5 over 1400m at Kocaeli on 13 Oct behind Fortissimo. Proven at Istanbul with a strong track record (4:2-1-0) and draws barrier 4 again, which has yielded a win and a second; that profile reads well for today’s setup.

Two wins from four starts include 1100m and 1200m Bursa successes, and she also placed 3rd over 1000m at Istanbul. Last start she drew wide and finished 9th of 13 over 1300m at Bursa, and now draws barrier 5 which should help; a measured chance if recapturing earlier form.

Draws barrier 1 and drops back 100m after a 5th at Kocaeli over 1400m six days ago on heavy, now on a short turnaround. Proven at Istanbul 1300m with a (2:1-1-0) track-distance record and a handy barrier record inside gates 1-3 (2:1-0-1). With A. Sözen back aboard, this set-up looks suitable for a positive run.

Proven at Bursa with back-to-back 3rd placings over 1200m and 1300m in July/August, including behind Perhaps and Wolf Women last time. Steps in from barrier 3 and reunites with Yiğitcan Gökçe, who has a strong record with the horse (3:1-0-2) and with the trainer (1:1-0-0). Solid platform to be competitive at this trip.

Comments

Runner-up last time at Istanbul over 1200m in a 2Y HCP 14 from barrier 1, narrowly behind Somewhat Cloudy carrying 56.5kg. Consistent this prep with 4ths at 1400m and 1500m, and the inside draw again (barrier 2) suits given a solid barrier record (3:0-1-1). With the jockey having already partnered for a placing, another competitive showing is within reach.
