Has had a month off since landing a hat trick with a track record-breaking win in the Hobart Cup in his lone try at this distance. His strike rate is impressive and he should be adding to the picket fence. Former Kiwi DALTON SHARD NZ (7) made an encouraging start in Tasmania when just a head away in second in the Devonport Cup. That was his first start for more than three months so it should have improved him. Draws wide but can progress. MAGICIAN (8) only beat a couple home when resuming but is usually a big improver second-up, winning four of seven attempts. Strikes at 50 per cent at this circuit and distance so expecting better. Last-start winner CELEBRITY ROYAL (9) steps up in grade but has a string of top-two finishes to his name and is unbeaten here so respect.
