Last year's VRC St Leger winner AMERICAN WOLF (1) should be at his peak after three runs this prep, the latest a third over 2400m at Caulfield two weeks ago. Having already had a run at 2400m could prove crucial here. STEEL RUN (2) quickly gets to 2520m second-up, but that's no shock for a Mick Kent-trained runner. Beaten 5 lengths into fourth over 2000m at Caulfield first-up, but Suntora won that by a space - and has won again since. MIDNIGHT GLOW (4) finished just over a length behind STEEL RUN that day and again bumped into Suntora last weekend, when he got a little closer. Peak fitness now and ready for this trip. URBAN OUTLOOK (3) got back into the winner's stall last start, but that was in weaker grade than this and he does drop in trip. MOZU MARCASSIN (5) has been building this prep and got into the placings last start but is another up in grade.
