VENUS INVICTA (2) gets the nod on debut with Capitalist speed in the pedigree and a Group 1-winning trainer in Kelly Schweida behind her. Doomben trial win in readiness was sharp. Looks set for a bright start. HIGHWIRE QUEEN (1) looks the main danger, a Trapeze Artist filly from Jami Lady. Gets the key booking of Thompson off a trial win in readiness. MISHANI KIMITSU (5) jumps from a wide draw, so will likely settle back in the ruck and be warming late. Is another that impressed in her lead-up work. BETTER BE DONE (9) comes through the same trial as VENUS INVICTA coming in and comes from a successful family with all of her siblings being race winners. Not to be discounted.

Debuts as a Trapeze Artist filly from Jami Lady and brings a neat profile for a first outing. Ben Thompson is a positive booking as the leading jockey at this venue, while Liam Birchley's debut record is solid and his figures with this sire line read well. Looks set for a bright start.

Comments

Makes her first race appearance as a Capitalist filly from Dream Of Venus and draws kindly in barrier three. Kelly Schweida produces her as the stable's only runner on the card, and Martin Harley gives her a capable, experienced rider with a strong record at this venue. The setup gives her every chance to make a strong debut.

Comments

Starts her career from a family that has produced race winners, headed by full sibling Mishani Rock and half-siblings Mishani Kingdom and Mishani Fortune. The Kobayashi-Donna Stanbridge combination has had a useful strike rate, and barrier four is no drawback. Even so, she sits behind the stronger debut profiles and will have to show early quality to trouble them. Place chance at best.

Ear Muffs FIRST TIME

Comments

Debuts by Kobayashi from It's Confidential and comes through a stable-sire combination that has returned 14 wins and 40 placings from 94 runners. That is a worthwhile base for a juvenile making her first start, though barrier eight may leave her with some work to do. Barrier eight is the query, but her profile gives her claims.

Comments

Begins as a Stronger filly from Conquista for Donna Stanbridge, with Tiffani Brooker taking the ride from barrier five. The draw is suitable enough for a first-starter, but her profile does not carry the same depth as the leading debutants in this field. Improvement on paper required.

Comments

Has the inside barrier and a productive family behind her, with Sherwood Prince, Horrible Hank, Princess Marian and Tinkerbella all multiple winners. That gives her some pedigree appeal, but Glenn Richardson's debut record is modest and this looks a sharp starting point. She has a platform to run honestly, though others bring stronger winning credentials. Can sneak a spot.

Comes from a family with early-speed relevance, including half-sibling Rarotonga, who was placed on debut at this track over 1000m before winning there. Barrier two is useful, and Better Than Ready is a familiar juvenile influence. In the mix.
