Comes through stronger races than most, though his latest sixth at Turffontein Inside behind Zip Code was only fair after being unwanted in the market. His previous ninth at this track was plain, but he drops from Open and Benchmark 74 company, has won at this track and distance, and Keagan De Melo is back aboard. With that proven 1400m grounding, he has the profile to rebound sharply.

Expected Settling Position: Midfield

Returns from a lengthy spell after finishing sixth at Turffontein Standside, beaten just over six lengths at big odds before the break. His earlier second last at this track was a heavy defeat, and his record at around 1400m shows only one placing from 16 attempts. He has past wins on the board, but this fresh assignment asks for a clear lift on recent race form.

Was well beaten by 30 lengths at Turffontein Inside last start in Open grade, a result that is difficult to soften with no clear excuse in the race comments. He had also finished tenth at Greyville two back, beaten just over five lengths on soft ground. The class drop and apprentice claim help the setup, but his current form line leaves him with plenty to turn around.

Returns from a five-week freshening after a seventh at this track, beaten eight and a half lengths in Benchmark 74 grade. The stronger reference is her prior FM Benchmark 74 win at this venue, where she beat Lightinthewoods by four and a half lengths after being well supported. A positive gear change adds interest, and her 1400m record gives her a realistic place profile.

Backs up after finishing eighth at this track last week, beaten seven lengths at long odds in Benchmark 74 grade. That followed a sixth at Turffontein Inside, also safely held, so the recent pattern is not persuasive. He has won at around 1400m, but barrier 13 is no help for a runner with natural speed and he will have to show more than he has in the past fortnight.

Put the consistency together when winning at this track last start, beating Stilo Novo by two and a half lengths over 1200m after being near the top of an open market. That followed a close third at the same venue, so his current campaign form is sound. This is a deeper test than a small-field MPLTE, but he is racing well enough to hold a strong place chance.

Has returned in solid order, finishing third at this track at his past two starts, most recently beaten three lengths behind Commander Of All in Benchmark 66 grade. He was also third over 1600m the run prior and now gets the benefit of an apprentice claim. Proven around 1400m with three wins and five placings, he looks one of the main dangers if he can bridge that last-start gap.

Finished sixth in FM Benchmark 81 company at Turffontein Inside last start, beaten over 11 lengths at generous odds, and there was no obvious excuse to upgrade it. Her previous second at this track was better, beaten just under two lengths by Salute The Flag, but she remains winless from 11 starts at this track and distance. Minor money looks the more realistic target.

Expected Settling Position: Pace

Has been safely held at both recent runs at this venue, finishing sixth behind Me And You before a seventh behind Commander Of All. The market found her on each occasion, but the performances have not matched that support. She is a track-and-distance winner and has plenty of 1400m experience, yet her unplaced run this season makes her difficult to push as a winning chance.

Ran better than the price suggested when fifth at Turffontein Inside last start, beaten two and a half lengths in Open grade at big odds. He had earlier finished sixth at this track, four and a half lengths from Spy Story, and the recent head-to-head line through Commander Of All and Longsword reads well enough. The query is a winless 1400m record, so he shapes as a place chance rather than a standout.

Was beaten over 16 lengths at Greyville Aw last start after starting big odds, which is a clear recent-form concern. Her previous fifth at Greyville was more competitive, beaten just under three lengths in Benchmark 70 grade on soft ground. She does get class relief and has won often enough on good tracks, but she is more a rough each-way hope if that prior run is the right guide.

Returns from a five-week freshening after finishing second last at this track, beaten a long way over 2000m despite firming from bigger odds. The run prior was a distant fourth over the same trip, so recent finishing strength is the concern. The move back to a winning distance and positive gear change give him a better setup, and that is enough to keep him in the minor-money mix.

Expected Settling Position: Midfield
