Bendigo Race 9

Peter Brown Custom Homes

Prize Money: $2,925

STAR MELI (1) was strong over this course and distance last time despite filling the minors, finishing a nose behind Phoenix Tan in 24.07 and recording a new PB here. Expected to go close if runs up to latest. ZAMBADA ICON (2) stalked the lead and fought on well to finish 5 lengths away in second (25.67) at Shepparton in a Special conditions Veteran race over 450m. Consistent performer from this draw with a win and six minor placings to his credit. Expecting another good run. FLUENT ACTION (4) is progressing well and looks close to another win after hitting the frame from Box 1 last run (24.03) at this track. Must be included in calculations. ASTON COMMANDER (7) deserves plenty of thought over this trip.

In the money last time at this track (24.07) in a Grade 5, finishing a nose second. Still a maiden from the draw but has placed two times. Looks suited here and rates a leading chance.

Sent out long odds last time but rocketed out of the boxes with a scorching early sectional and gave a sight before being swallowed up late, finishing a 3.5 lengths third (24.03) over 425m at this track. More than capable and has to be included.

Did a good job two starts back at this track to win by a nose in 24.26, beating Bed Time Daisy. Last start finished 7th in a Grade 4/5 on October 9 over 425m at this track behind Baby Beets beaten 10 lengths (24.65). Will need to improve to feature.
