Globe Derby Race 9

2026 South Australian Pacing Derby (Heat 2) (Sky 1)

Prize Money: $8,000

MAJOR BLITZ (5) turned in an uncharacteristically poor run last time out when 9 metres away in sixth over 2760m at Melton. Form prior to that had been solid. Has the talent to return to something like his best. LUVTOBEUPTOME (6) finished fifth last start over 2760m at Melton, beaten 7 metres, after a good win at Mildura the run prior. This is a nice drop in grade so he is a major player. LOCHINVAR LEADER (4) disappointed last time when tenth over 1800m at this track. Can bounce back. B T CAPTIVATE NZ (2) is worth some thought based on his victory over 1800m at this track two runs ago.

Last start was driven from back in the field when 5th (Fr4) over 2050m at Port Pirie beaten 4.5 m by Twin Connection (2:30.80) on October 10 at $16. Two runs back won by a head after showing early speed, (Fr4) at this track (2:11.80) beating Not Vicious in 3yo on September 26 at $4.80. This looks a far sterner test.

Expected Settling Position: Leader
