Geelong Race 8

Prize Money: $3,360

FOXY ROXY (2) had won three in a row before finishing third (30.56) last time at The Meadows. Has a good record at this journey. The form out of her last race has been franked. One of the contenders. SPRINGER'S BOY (3) has missed the frame at his last couple of starts but just a few runs back broke the clock when winning over 435m at Sale, taking a Grade 5 in a dominant 24.20. Rates a leading chance if runs up to recent winning time. MEPUNGA GYPSY (8) hit the ground running to lead before holding on for a placings when second (29.70) at Sandown in Restricted WIN H. Has failed to finish in the placings from three starts here. Comes out of a solid form race last start. Expected to feature. OPAWA POSTMAN (7) form at this distance reads well.

Quickly away at Sandown two runs back then again settled forward and finished third at The Meadows last start over 525m. Thereabouts at the last couple. Suited here and likely to run well.

Found the going tougher last start when third over 410m at Horsham. That followed a win two back in 23.48 beating Starship Atlas over 410m at Horsham. Other runners look much more appealing.

Comments

Hit the ground running last time with a strong early split and tried to lead throughout but had to settle for the minors when second (29.70) at Sandown over 515m. The form out of the last run measures up. Among the chances.
