Ararat Race 8

Acacia Caravan Park Pace

Prize Money: $5,000

SMOKIN STREPO (6) won at Terang two runs ago before finishing third at his latest appearance over 2160m at Hamilton, beaten 7 metres. Tackles a similar assignment and he can bounce back to winning form. NORMANDY NUGGET (2) finished third at Ballarat two starts back then was competitive again at his latest appearance over 1710m at the same circuit, beaten a neck into third after being handy in the run. Has the benefit of a good draw. His recent form is good enough to win a race of this calibre. LIVERMERE (4) is a big chance following a run of three top-three finishes, the latest at Mt Gambier a week-and-a-half ago. Real threat to the top selections. DANCIN WITH ELVIS (1) is worth plenty of thought off a last-start win by a head at Charlton over 1609m.

Two back was well beaten into second after showing early speed, behind Smokin Strepo at Terang over 1680m on October 19 at $7. Then a handy effort when a close third after a quick start, behind Margaritari at Mt Gambier over 1780m on October 30 at $3.70. Racing well and should be in the finish again.
