Sandown Park Race 2

Douggie Pereira Memorial

Prize Money: $8,785

PAW CORNELIUS (1) flew the lids with a sensational early split and hit the frame with a 4 length third (24.22) over 425m at Bendigo. Goes well out of this box with a win and three minor placings. Top prospect. COMPTON GYPSY (7) is worth forgiving last start after finishing seventh (30.38) at Wentworth Park over 520m. Worth following up. MILLY LILY (2) is a handy type who was well below best latest at Healesville, finishing seventh (19.98) in a Grade 4/5. Generally safe to begin but was always well back last time. Great chance to atone. NOSEY BLUEY (3) is likely to have admirers.

Charged out of the boxes with a fast early sectional but gathered in and finished in the minors when third (24.22) at Bendigo over 425m. Capable of improvement on latest effort. Well placed and should feature.

Ordinary effort last start when she was slow out over 350m at Healesville. Prior to that won by a long neck at Sale (28.87) beating Dr. Tracie in a R/A FIN on September 27. Expected to bounce right back. Hard to beat.
