Sportsbet Melbourne Cup Prelude 9

Prize Money: $9,055

SPARRING (1) comes here off a placing in handy time (29.58) over 515m at this track. In the money latest and can measure up here. PAW ZURI (4) put in a much better performance last start when in the placings at The Meadows behind Paw Orenthal (30.02) in a Free For All. Has the early speed to land on the pace and can stick on. Recorded one of the quickest times on the card last start despite being beaten. Expected to feature. FLYING ROYCE (6) turned spotting a big start finishing fourth (29.94) last time in a Restricted WIN H at this track. Has a good record here including two wins. Must be included in calculations. HUGO ROSE (2) is in form and must include among the chances.

Hit the frame at this track last time when a 1.5 lengths second but did record a solid 29.58 over the 515m trip. Looks the one to beat with a repeat of that effort.
